Cambrios and Nissha Printing Company, Ltd., of Japan Sign Product Development and Purchase Agreement

Sunnyvale, CA — May 12, 2009 — Cambrios Technologies Corporation announced today that it has signed a product development and purchase agreement with Nissha Printing Company, Ltd., of Japan, the world’s leading manufacturer of Touch Panels.

Under the terms of this agreement, the companies will collaborate on the development and application of Cambrios ClearOhm™ brand family of Transparent Conductive Materials & Films for use in projective capacitive Touch Panel applications. It is anticipated that Nissha will introduce Touch Panel products based on ClearOhm material and ClearOhm coated films, including those targeted at Notebook computers, Netbooks, mobile phones and other ‘touch enabled’ electronic devices. Cambrios highest performance projective capacitive ClearOhm products will be exclusive to Nissha for a certain period, and Nissha has made associated contractual commitments to minimum purchases of these materials from Cambrios.

Cambrios ClearOhm brand technology is focused on replacing transparent conductive oxides including indium tin oxide (ITO) in a number of markets, including the Touch Panel and LCD markets. The material is also attractive for use in a number of emerging applications including Thin Film Photovoltaics, and addresses a total Transparent Conductor market of $3.2B in 2009, growing to $5.2B by 2011, according to Market Research firm Nanomarkets. ClearOhm materials and films are based on metallic nanostructures and can have superior optical and electrical qualities compared to ITO, as well as other transparent conductor alternatives including conductive polymers and carbon nano-tubes. ClearOhm material facilitates the design of highly flexible and superior performance touch panels that can be incorporated in innovative designs of mobile phones and other ‘touch enabled’ electronic devices, and can also provide significant cost savings because wet processing of ClearOhm materials allows for a sizable reduction in the costs of material deposition and patterning.

According to Michael R. Knapp, Cambrios President & CEO, the recent announcement of this agreement by Nissha Printing Co., Ltd., demonstrates the very strong demand for enhanced transparent conductive materials and the commercial traction for Cambrios ClearOhm brand technology and products.

“The opportunity is very large, and we are very well positioned to penetrate a significant portion of the market, starting in the Touch Panel market and proceeding to the LCD and Thin Film Photovoltaic markets,” said Dr. Knapp.  “Nissha Printing Company is a technology, quality and market size leader in Touch Panels, and we are privileged to have Nissha take the lead in commercializing our technology and products in projective capacitive Touch Panel applications. We anticipate that ClearOhm material will emerge as the standard transparent conductor ‘material of choice’ in emerging high volume touch applications by 2010, and will enable many innovative ‘touch enabled’ product designs by manufacturers of Notebooks, Netbooks, mobile phones, games and other electronic and entertainment devices.”

About Cambrios
Cambrios is an electronic materials company that develops proprietary, competitive products using nanotechnology.  Cambrios implements its novel technology to simplify electronics manufacturing processes, improve end-product performance and identify ways to satisfy unmet industry needs.  The company’s first product is ClearOhm™ coating material that produces a transparent, conductive film by wet processing. ClearOhm films have improved properties by comparison to currently used materials such as indium tin oxide and other transparent conductive oxides.  Applications of ClearOhm coating material include transparent electrodes for touch screens and liquid crystal displays.
