Summary:  Cambrios is developing a novel transparent conducting nanostructured material that can be processed by wet coating techniques as a replacement for sputtered indium tin oxide used in the electronic materials industry.  

 

Responsibilities include creating, documenting, and implementing procedures (SOP, batch records, recipes, etc.) to assemble, process, test, and/or manufacture electronic materials.  Improve overall processes, and related issues including process development, scheduling, production processing, problem solving, and program management.  Other duties include the design, installation, and qualification of capital equipment.  Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.  Apply statistical methods to establish control charts, validate stable operations, and determine process capability.   

 

The qualified candidate should have excellent organizational skills, and be comfortable with acquiring and summarizing data for technical presentation.  Attention to detail and the ability to rigorously develop and follow standard operating procedures are required.  In addition, the candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work closely with materials chemists and ink formulation specialists to tailor the nanostructured material and deposition process for a particular application.  The ability to innovate and work in a team environment is critical.

 

This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

 

Essential Functions:

- Develop batch records, SOP, methods, techniques, and measurement evaluation criteria for requested materials

- Proficiency in Design of Experiments, performing experiments, analyzing test results, troubleshooting customer complaints, and developing of corrective/preventative action plans.

- Proficient with statistical process (SPC) and quality control (SQC) – knowledge of JMP statistical software is preferred.

- Support requests for investigations and customer complaints as outlined in established operating and company quality system procedures

- Computer application software, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project, Adobe Acrobat, Access, and statistical software is required.

- Data oriented, strong organizational and communication skills.

- Provide input in maintaining housekeeping standards and implement corrective action from housekeeping deficiencies.

-Provide input for Plant Quality Improvement and Safety Programs.

-Interface with all company functional departments as required to perform daily activities.

-Responsible for production equipment maintenance.

-Responsible for training of chemical operators.

-Adhere to and enforce company policies, plant rules, and procedures as a condition of employment.

 

Qualifications:  BS Degree or higher in Science or Engineering.  More than 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing/engineering.  Strong computer skills required—Excel, Word, Powerpoint, database and statistical software experience required.  Data driven, detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills required.  Knowledge of transparent coating, raw material, and film manufacture strongly preferred.  Familiarity with the following characterization techniques is desirable: SEM / EDX, light microscopy, profilometry, 4-point probe, UV-vis, FTIR, ellipsometry, AFM, or other standard thin film characterization techniques
